Jurgis Kairys is not just a name in the world of aviation; he is a legend whose contributions to aerobatics have set the standards for sport aviation. A Lithuanian pilot with numerous world records, he is often regarded as a “pilot’s pilot.” Jurgis captivates audiences worldwide with his extraordinary skills, unique maneuvers, and passion for flying, making him one of the most respected and well-known aerobatic pilots on the planet.

Jurgis began participating in aerobatic competitions in the 1980s and has amassed an impressive collection of awards and medals, including multiple championships at the World Aerobatic Championships. He is also a multiple Overall Champion of the World Grand Prix of Aerobatics and has invented several signature maneuvers, such as the aptly named “Kairys Wheel”. Notably, he was the first pilot ever to perform the “Cobra” maneuver, in which a fixed-wing aircraft hovers like a helicopter.

As an aeronautical engineer, Jurgis has participated in the development of many Sukhoi aerobatic aircrafts, including his own model, the “Juka.” Today, he performs in the Su-31, a unique and rare sport aircraft.

Jurgis has flown inverted under a seven-meter-high bridge in Kaunas and has repeated this feat under all bridges in Vilnius, Lithuania! 

Jurgis' influence extends beyond the competitive flying. His techniques and skills have left an indelible mark on the aerobatic community. As a role model for aspiring pilots, Jurgis is a shining example that passion, hard work, and creativity can lead to extraordinary achievements.
