Nuclear Submarine
SSN 571 "Engine" NH72-571B648

Special skeleton edition tribute to the USS SSN-571 "Nautilus", the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine. Designed in collaboration with its crew members, this timepiece captures the spirit, technology, and robust construction of the vessel. It is a fusion of horological art and naval aesthetics.

The 45.7 mm case was created to endure extreme underwater conditions, boasting a 30 ATM water resistance that ensures reliability in deep-sea environments. The unidirectional rotating diver’s bezel, screw-in crown, thick case back with a 3D image, and special K1 crystal with an anti-reflective coating provide durability and precision in any circumstances.

The dial features 12 vertically mounted tritium tubes, with three additional tubes in the hour and minute hands, ensuring high legibility even in the darkest depths. The dial design reflects the submarine's construction, with a focus on its nuclear "heart." Tritium tubes do not require charging by sunlight, are maintenance-free, and guarantee continuous luminosity for at least 10 years.

It based on the Japan NH72 automatic skeleton movement from TMI, coated by Ruthenium – a rare transition metal from platinum group.

Model goes with two distinct straps: an original silicon strap with an expandable section for comfortable wear over a diving suit, and italian hand made genuine leather strap for everyday use. Both straps are equipped with a solid VE-designed buckle and can be easily replaced using the included screwdriver or even a simple coin.

The watch set is packaged in a special VE DryBox L – a shockproof and water-resistant case that can be used not only for storing the watch but also for holding valuable and important items outdoors.

This timepiece is a perfect blend of heritage, innovation, and rugged functionality, paying homage to the first nuclear submarine in every detail.

Additionally, an integrated stainless steel solid bracelet is available for separate purchase.

The USS Nautilus (SSN-571) was the world's first nuclear-powered submarine, launched in 1954 and operated from 1955 to 1980. It revolutionized naval warfare with its ability to remain submerged for extended periods, notably becoming the first vessel to reach the North Pole in 1958. Today, it is preserved as a museum ship in Groton, Connecticut, USA.
